With a back-porch view of beautiful rolling countryside, and regular visits from grazing deer (and the occasional foraging armadillo), you’ll love the peaceful setting, cool morning air, afternoon breezes and Texas’ beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Or, you can relax in the hammock under the Mighty Oak, whose majestic canopy is the result of over a century of growth.
While you’re less than fifteen minutes from the attractions and nightlife of old downtown Fredericksburg, you’re refreshingly free of the crowds. Even better, you’re an easy five minutes from Luckenbach Texas, with its history and live music, and if you’re hungry, Alamo Springs café is also just a few minutes south – it’s home to Texas Monthly’s “Best Burger in Texas,” and more live music. Of course, if you came for the wineries, you’ll find them close-by, as well as the award-winning Altstadt Brewery.
Charming living/kitchen/dining areas are found on the first floor along with a bedroom with a full-size bed and bath. The second floor features another bedroom with a queen sized bed, sitting area, HDTV television and a bath with a grotto shower. The well-equipped kitchen is ready for you to cook your own gourmet meals, and there is a Keurig coffee maker for your use. We love the character of well water, but guests seem to appreciate the reverse osmosis filtered water system, too. For the summer heat a new ac/duct work has been installed to ensure you can cool off nicely after your day of adventure.
All linens are provided, and Wifi and Roku TV is included, so you can stream your favorite television and movies.

  My wife and I wanted a place not too close to town, and this was a perfect 10 minute drive out into the countryside for a nice, secluded home away from home. I would definitely consider renting here again.

  We had a nice time in this clean and cozy cabin.
  We did encounter a scorpion in the kitchen sink. Later we noticed another guest had noted in the "experience log" at the cabin, that they also found a scorpion(s) during their stay. We know this comes with the territory of TX and being in the country, but please take all precautions to rid the interior of these nasty pests.
  Again, nothing major, but it seems there may be a pattern considering another guest noted this also.

  Everything was great! Only concern was the water it smelled like rust, but Besides that it was lovely!

    We contacted the homeowner and he said that the cabin is serviced by a well and that it has a very high mineral content. There is a reverse osmosis system in the kitchen for drinking water.

  The cabin is so beautifully rustic, with all the little amenities that are often overlooked in other rental properties. When the heater wasn't enough during the Christmas freeze, the owner went above and beyond to install an auxiliary heater and provide portable heaters in the meantime. Will definitely visit again!

  Enjoyed privacy and view, as well as proximity to Luckenbach. Safety concern with loft stairs and handrail. The overall costseemed excessive after surveying interior space upon arrival. I did appreciate the location and rustic aesthetics.
